Meka B. Ward is an Associate in the Litigation Section of Thomas Kennedy Sampson & Tompkins LLP. Her principal areas of practice include wrongful death, personal injury, medical malpractice, insurance defense, premises liability, contractual relations, and driving under the influence of alcohol cases.
Meka began her career as an Assistant Solicitor for the City Court of Atlanta where she prosecuted misdemeanor offenses and traffic violations. As an Assistant Solicitor, Meka handled numerous bench and jury trials.
After leaving the Solicitor's Office, Meka joined The Chestney-Hawkins Law Firm where she specialized in defending driving under the influence of alcohol cases and other traffic related matters for over five years.
Meka also served as a Staff Attorney on the Public Safety and Personnel/Human Resources Divisions in The Office of the Fulton County Attorney. In this capacity, Meka provided legal counsel and advice to various departments and handled the County's employment litigation, specifically § 42 U.S.C. 1983 and Title VII claims.
Meka is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Georgia, Georgia Court of Appeals and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
