Associate
Nikisha ("Niki") L. McDonald is an Associate in the Litigation Section of Thomas Kennedy Sampson & Tompkins LLP. Her principal areas of practice include wrongful death, personal injury, medical malpractice and premises liability.
Niki began her career as a law clerk for the Honorable Penny Brown Reynolds in the State Court of Fulton County. As a law clerk, she prepared orders, assisted the judge in conducting both civil and criminal trials, prepared a legal analysis for cases to be head on oral motions calendars, helped resolve discovery disputes, and oversaw various other pending motions and matters before of the Court.
After leaving her clerkship, she served as a Staff Attorney on the Risk Management and Public Safety Divisions in The Office of the Fulton County Attorney. In this capacity, Niki provided legal counsel and advice to various public safety departments, reviewed contracts, participated in administrative hearings, and drafted ordinances and resolutions. She also handled lawsuits filed against the County and public safety officials, specifically, litigation relating to § 42 U.S.C. 1983 and jail conditions.
Niki is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Georgia, Georgia Court of Appeals, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
